Second Annual Shred Event to benefit the Church of St. Columba
A heartfelt thank you to the 50 plus area residents who came out in support of our Community Shred Event Friday, June 26th. In a true demonstration of “Think Local First”, the team of Mahopac National Bank and HV Shred destroyed over 3000 pounds of confidential paperwork while raising over $500 for the neighboring St. Columba School in Hopewell Junction. Participants came from as far as Kingston. Participants can also be proud of the fact that by recycling the shredded material, we all helped save over 25 trees. It was a great day to protect identities, preserve our environment, and raise some money for a local school. Thank you Hudson Valley!

A Congesssional Dialogue
Along with IES, Marshall & Sterling, and Eugene Fleishman, CPA, HV Shred, Inc. is proud to sponsor this complimentary quarterly Legislative Action Luncheon. The event provides an informal style luncheon to interact with elected officials. This quarter, the luncheon will feature a debate between Rep. John Hall (D-19) and Kieran Lalor (candidate), US House of Representatives. The event will be held at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Thanks to all who came out and braved the rain Thursday, November 13th in the Hudson Valley Town Plaza (next to Wal-Mart/Sam's Complex) in Fishkill, NY for our free Shredding Day, co-sponsored by the New York State Consumer Protection Board (CPB) and HV Shred, Inc.. As part of the CPB's efforts to raise awareness about the benefits of shredding documents to reduce the possibility of identity theft, we shred up to 2 boxes for attendees. We also distributed educational materials to help guide community residents on how to protect themselves from the dangers of identity theft. We had a great time on Friday, October 31st when we participated in a free Environmental Fair organized by the Poughkeepsie Farm Project. All in attendance had a chance to meet and speak with representatives from local environmental organizations about their programs and work in the Mid-Hudson Valley. See our photo with with Super Veggie. The event was sponsored by DRA Imaging, Hudson Valley FCU, and Eagle Riverview Group.

Thanks to all who came out to support this event. Partnering with HVFCU and its members, HV Shred shred and recycled approximately 6 tons of confidential paperwork. That's nearly 70 trees and 18 cubic yards of landfill saved!
